ABOUT

“ I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them.” Pablo Picasso

Your home should reflect the essence of who you are - this cannot always be bought on the high street. I like to work with you and your ideas to create one-off pieces that are as unique as you.

First and foremost I am an artist. Professionally trained with a B.A. and Masters Degree in Visual Arts. I am also an educator – a trained teacher in Further Education.

I approach furniture as I would a canvass, in a painterly fashion (I’m afraid I can’t help it!)

Throughout my training and after many trials errors on hundreds of pieces of furniture, I have developed my own applied techniques and style, which is very much layered and textured. Paying attention to the minor details is as important to me

as it is to my clients. It’s the little things that count. That certain knob or handle; a lined drawer, the insides count too. Pieces to be admired and talked about as you would a work of art.

It can be simplistic in style and colour, or as funky and outrageous as you dare.

Modern Rustic is a very on trend look. Where old can sit comfortably next to modern – it works.

In the near future I intend to run Furniture Up-cycling Workshops, so be sure to follow my blog.

I love objects. All things Wabi Sabi (the understated, the unemcumbered) interesting stuff. I like a bit of rustic, kicked around, bruised, discarded.

I have been buying and transforming furniture and other objects for over 20 years, alongside collecting a selling antiques, decorative arts and collectables and industrial salvage.

So if you don’t see anything you like – I can help you to source it. If you already have it – I can transform it, or indeed a whole space.

And… as an added bonus, you may just find that other thing you never knew you needed, in my section of Antiques, Salvage or Decorative Objects.
